I LOVED stick racing as a kid. Because it all involves watching and shouted commentary, and there’s no action aside from saying “ready set go” and dropping the sticks. How fun is that?!
I was really proud of the art in this one. The different perspectives as well as the stone-work in panel 2.
poohsticks!
Excellent draftsmanship.
We raced boats made from folded newspaper, also sticks and even corncobs.
Corncobs would work really well, wouldn’t they. Especially on a picnic after eating corn on the cob. :)
I really appreciate being able to go back through the strip and the reminiscing. I would not have noticed the attention to the perspective if it was not mentioned….I would have realized and enjoyed a difference but not have known why.
Thanks for the replay Christopher..(and the poster)
Yes, thanks for the replay with your comments. Very interesting.
I love the changes in perspective too! And the rerun with comments, that’s such fun. It’s just like a behind-the-scenes documentary, and I love those. : )
Pooh Sticks x2!
There’s always something about that stick racing game that fills me with glee & I play it any time I come across a bridge over a stream!
