I love it when you suggest something “beneficial” or a “learning experience” to a kid, and they give you “that look” which says “I wish I could lock you in a box and laugh about it.”

Actually, it’s a legit gift for most small kids, but younger than Dee. My three are now older, but only a few years ago, they had more fun on Christmas Day playing in the large boxes that protected their gifts during transit than the toys themselves.
