I like these strips, but I always feel odd reading them. “Looking back is where I find beauty and dimension. But life only holds adventure if I’m looking forward”. The final words the ending of Little Dee.
Blake: “The glass is half full — of a delicious milkshake!”
Vachel: “The glass is half empty — and the milk has curdled.”
@GnarlyDoug, I hear you. It was a strange adjustment for me too. What happened was that the graphic novel essentially establishes a different reality for her and the crew, and since I had the opportunity to bring her to a larger audience, and to play wit the cast again, I welcomed and embraced that. The new strips are an odd place, in that they are in the format of the old strips, but as I write and create them, they fall into the new reality.
Projects evolve sometimes to fit other things. Which is hard when you’re used to one thing, but can be so exciting once you take the change for what it is and run with it. :)
@christopher, yeah, but be sure to keep a big hammer close by in case those projects evolve to include tentacles with claws or even self-awareness. It might even grow to be an editor or a literary critic.
